While I was trying to fix the leak on the toilet, a light in the bathroom blew out.

While I was trying to replace the light bulb, the glass lampshade fell.

I almost caught it.

Fortunately, I dont think any of the little glass grains got inside the tub. And the leak seems to be mysteriously fixed, despite me discovering the washers I got weren’t the right kind and just reassembling the connection as it was.

Sorry to hear that, sweetielove. Glad you didn't get hurt, though.

*kisses*

Ah, the joys of property ownership. I will join [livejournal.com profile] plumtreeblossom's sentiment that it's good you didn't get hurt in the process.

I hate when stuff like that happens and I feel like the universe is dumping on me. Couple of weeks ago I cut open my hand, went to the medicine cabinet for supplies and the hydrogen peroxide fell out on me when I opened the door. I bent down to pick it up and stood up hitting my head on the open door. At this point, alone in the house, I actually asked the universe out loud what I had done to deserve this. And it answered (doing too much at once and not being attentive to what I was doing). Breath in. breath out. start over.

Except for shattered glass, that’s pretty much SQB’s regular, and successful, technique for repair work. For nearly anything whose concept was developed before the computer – alarm clocks, vacuum cleaners, radios – he takes it apart, declares “I can’t see anything wrong with it,” wipes away a little dirt, puts it back together, and voila! One 40- or 50-dollar repair bill saved.

Glad that glass lampshade missed your head!
